Google video downloader for GNU/Linux (Ruby script)


Introduction

This package is a simple one day hack used for testing flash players under GNU/Linux.

It is a simple Ruby script that will download and index any Google video (in flv format) for which you have the docid.

Download and usage

First make sure you are allowed to use this script. It is distributed under GPLv2 and you should note that:

Also, make sure that using this software, in the way you intend to, is legal in your situation.

You can download the script and additions here: google_video_downloader.tar.gz.

Simply unpack and run ./add.rb [docid] to download a video, then run firefox index.html to select and start one of your videos. The video's are saved in the video directory as .flv and are played using FlowPlayer (included in the download).
